So .. what does GRACE look like? Do I know grace? Do I show grace?

Well .. I certainly know irritation .. frustration .. annoyance .. pressure ..

Could these things be opportunities? Frankly I don’t always think happy thoughts during these times. I think about the pain and inconvenience that they cause me more often than not.

Does that mean I am a failure?

The fact that a colleague ringing in sick when they could have come to work causes me to be irritated .. seeing someone take advantage of a person or situation for their own gain causes me upset .. a driver cutting in on me in traffic … bother!

No .. I think my responses are normal human reactions.

So how am I to deal with these things ????

Firstly .. I must give myself a reality check .. I am far from perfect ..

Then also cut myself some slack .. next – stick my head firmly in God’s word to see what He has to say on the matter ..

According to the Christian Bible Reference Site ‘Grace’  is used 8 times in the Old Testament and 123 times in the New Testament NIV ..
that fact, to me – says that Grace is pretty important!

So … what I am taking from this is .. God extended grace to me when He gave me the gift of salvation … and that even if I don’t think someone deserves grace .. or whether or not I  ‘feel’ like extending grace to others – that shouldn’t be a consideration … grace is a choice .. a gift ..

‘For it is by grace you have been saved,  through faith – and this is not from yourselves,  it is the gift of God – not by works,  so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork,  created in Christ Jesus to do good works,  which God prepared in advance for us to do.’
Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV
